U.S. Green Building Council Approved Product
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit organization that is “committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. The USGBC and in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1997 developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program. The USGBC has formalized the LEED program for New Construction (NC), Existing Buildings (EB), Commercial Interiors (CI), Core and Shell (CS), and Homes, with specialized subprograms for hospitals and schools. LEED-NC is the most common program for sustainable building design at this time.
The LEED® green building certification program is a voluntary, consensus-based national rating system for buildings designed, constructed and operated for improved environmental and human health performance. LEED addresses all building types and emphasizes state-of-the- art strategies in five areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resources selection, and indoor environmental quality.
Novagard Solutions, Inc. embraces the concepts of the USGBC and the ideals and guidelines established with the LEED program with their entire line of NOVAFLEX® products, which meet or exceed the rigid VOC requirements prescribed with LEED. To demonstrate its commitment to our society’s growing environmental concern, Novagard Solutions has developed standard documentation (our “LEED Letters”) with all of the basic required information necessary to evaluate our products in use of your LEED compliant building project. Our “LEED Letters” address: 1) Place of Manufacture; 2) Information on Material Sourcing: 3) Recycled Content (broken down by Post-Industrial/Pre-Consumer and Post-Consumer); 4) VOC Content; 5) Renewable Material Content; and additional information that may be helpful to you in selection of NOVAFLEX® building material sealants or adhesives for your design consideration.
See the related “LEED Letter” for each of our NOVAFLEX® building materials products at the links shown.
