Gasketing UV Cure In Place Silicone |
|
Fabricating cured-in-place gaskets (CIPG) begins with a fluid sealant material that is dispensed onto one mating surface of a flange joint. The sealant may be installed manually or using robotic dispensing equipment. The sealant may be applied in any shape or dimension and easily follows complex contours of the substrate, or part. The material is then cured-in-place before final assembly of the flange joint. NOVAGARD® Silicones UV cured sealants maintain all of the enhanced performance characteristics of conventional silicone based materials with processing speeds unmatched by other technologies. The unique and patented UV-cure silicone chemistry found in the NOVAGARD sealants also provides dual-cure capabilities where a secondary moisture cure effectively eliminates any problems associated with shadowing on complex parts and improves adhesion to the component.
Ultra-Violet Systems
• Exceptionally Fast UV Cure ; Room Temperature Curing
• Minimal UV energy requirements
• Little, or no, heat generated so parts remain cool
• Process or package a part immediately; No racking
• Cure up to 5/8” (16 mm) of material 10 times faster than other well known brands
• No Oxygen Inhibition ; No Corrosive Byproducts
• Excellent dielectric properties
UV / Moisture Dual Cure
• Cures upon exposure to either a UV light source or atmospheric moisture
• Dual cure continues to build strength and adhesion after the initial UV cure cycle
• Moisture cure eliminates shadow effects on complex parts
• Neutral, non-corrosive secondary cure system will not harm sensitive components
• Excellent dielectric properties
• Solvent Free / 100% solids – no VOC’s to handle or report
